We dropped into the Land Skills Fair in July, to forage for stories of the remarkable beings feeding people and planet.

Organised by the Landworkers’ Alliance and allies, the festival is building a movement for food, land and climate justice by sharing celebration, wisdom and skills in activism, farming, forestry and more.

We’re gathering stories for a national campaign launching next year, championing custodians of British biocultural diversity. We Feed The UK will use photography and poetry to tell a fresh tale about the regenerative farming sector, of wildflower whisperers, carbon capturers, and insect allies.

These are the people mounting a quiet revolution with nature, to nurture the resilient, just and abundant food system that we all need to thrive. Scroll through the gallery below to meet them.

You can also see pop-up portraits from the Oxford Real Farming Conference and Groundswell, all captured by photographer Louis Little.
